Hello Podfication Community,
You may have already heard the news, but for financial reasons resulting from the pandemic our friends at the Geek Partnership Society ended their lease and vacated their community center rooms at the Waterbury Building in Minneapolis as of January 2023. You can learn more about that decision via their communication here: http://hosted-p0.vresp.com/587143/b072fbe8d3/ARCHIVE
Podfication has always been a small gathering for podfic fans and creators. The GPS facility and their generous support of small fandom organizations like ours was the chief reason we had an affordable space to host our event.
Between dwindling ability to attend in person events due to the pandemic, the closure of the GPS facility, and skyrocketing hotel costs, the bottom line is that it is no longer feasible for Podfication to be held in person. And regrettably, my own bandwidth has become limited so I'm unable to give a virtual Podfication the attention it would deserve.
I'm sorry to say that this means that Podfication is on indefinite hold. It's been a great run and I want to sincerely thank everyone who attended and supported our little convention. I genuinely hope we have the opportunity to connect again in the future.
If I can answer any questions or concerns you have, please feel free to reach out.
Sincerely,
revolutionaryjo
