2017 Lodgings Finder Post!

For folks not in easy driving distance of the Twin Cities, you can use this post to find roommates to share a hotel room with or connect up with some of the locals who are able to host some attendees for the weekend!

The GPS Community Center is located at 1121 NE Jackson St., Minneapolis MN 55413. There are quite a few hotels in downtown Minneapolis that are an easy bus ride away. Google Maps should be able to give you the logistical lowdown on that, depending on which hotel you're looking up. Metro Transit also has your back.

Many people last year stayed in groups in Airbnbs near the venue, which worked out really well, and we highly recommend! While we'll leave actual rental & group organization up to you, we definitely encourage you to use this option :)

Note from Jo: You may be tempted to stay at the University Inn off of 4th St as it's the closest hotel to the center, but trust me and do not do the thing. Maybe something has changed in the last decade since I lived in that area, but I know it as a place to avoid and am thus passing on this important info.

Locals, if you have some guest rooms or couch space you're able to spare, please chime in! Any space available at an individual's home is at their discretion, of course.

Hey folks, I've currently got couch or air mattress space for one more at my place if anybody's looking. I'm about a 20 minute drive from the venue.

As ever, I love you all but prefer that I've met you at least once in the real world before you stay in my house. Thanks!

If you don't feel like reading all the way up thread, annapods, sisi_rambles, and I have snatched up this airbnb. It has lots of space, is inexpensive, and only a mile from the venue. Plus, it's a whole house, not an apartment, so if we want to record it should be fairly quiet!

It fits up to 8, so many more people are welcome to join us :D We've booked it for Fri, Sat, and Sunday nights, but if you're only planning on staying for 2 nights we'll figure it out. If we have 4 people it'll be $125 per person for the weekend, 5 = $112, 6 = $103, 7 = $97, 8 = $92. Join us! <3

Hi! Is anyone else still interested in a different AirBNB? marianas & my gf and I are interested in this one that a few people stayed in last year. It's really close, but more expensive:

There are two bedrooms and a sleeper couch. We can accommodate 2-3 more people if folks are okay sharing beds. I'm going to pay more because I need to claim the one queen bed bedroom because of my old back & insomnia. It would be about $185 per person for 5 people in that scenario.

There's a cancellation fee, so I'm not going to book it unless I know we have enough people. Also, I'm the world's worst sleeper, so probably you'd need to be willing to keep quiet after midnight or it's not a good fit?
