2017 Lodgings Finder Post!

For folks not in easy driving distance of the Twin Cities, you can use this post to find roommates to share a hotel room with or connect up with some of the locals who are able to host some attendees for the weekend!

The GPS Community Center is located at 1121 NE Jackson St., Minneapolis MN 55413. There are quite a few hotels in downtown Minneapolis that are an easy bus ride away. Google Maps should be able to give you the logistical lowdown on that, depending on which hotel you're looking up. Metro Transit also has your back.

Many people last year stayed in groups in Airbnbs near the venue, which worked out really well, and we highly recommend! While we'll leave actual rental & group organization up to you, we definitely encourage you to use this option :)

Note from Jo: You may be tempted to stay at the University Inn off of 4th St as it's the closest hotel to the center, but trust me and do not do the thing. Maybe something has changed in the last decade since I lived in that area, but I know it as a place to avoid and am thus passing on this important info.

Locals, if you have some guest rooms or couch space you're able to spare, please chime in! Any space available at an individual's home is at their discretion, of course.

If you don't feel like reading all the way up thread, annapods, sisi_rambles, and I have snatched up this airbnb. It has lots of space, is inexpensive, and only a mile from the venue. Plus, it's a whole house, not an apartment, so if we want to record it should be fairly quiet!

It fits up to 8, so many more people are welcome to join us :D We've booked it for Fri, Sat, and Sunday nights, but if you're only planning on staying for 2 nights we'll figure it out. If we have 4 people it'll be $125 per person for the weekend, 5 = $112, 6 = $103, 7 = $97, 8 = $92. Join us! <3

Despite the fact that I'll be living in MN during podfication I will also be sans car and living in a tiny dorm room over in Saint Paul so I would actually like to airbnb! I'd love to join y'all if you still have space! I have class early Monday so I would probably also just be two nights.

The listing says it doesn't have parking, but one of the reviews said that parking around the corner was very easy. Is that situation okay with you? If someone will email me the address, I can swing by on a dog walk and check this. My bet is yes, most places in this neighborhood have pretty readily available street parking.

I'll DM it to you. From poking around on google maps, it seems like there isn't parking on the exact street, but intersecting streets do. Taking a look to know for sure though would be fab!

One of the reviews said it was 'easy to find parking around the corner'. And this place is like 2 houses down from the corner, so I think it should be good to bring a car.
